From 5 years ago, up to this date of January 1st 2012, what do we see that could be considered a big change in our society? One wouldn’t deny that mobile devices such as Smart Phones, Smart Pads, and affordable laptops are contributing greatly to the way we communicate and find information online today. And in response to that popularity, more and more retailers, such as McDonald’s, car dealers, small coffee shops, etc., are adding free in-house WiFi to help attract and retain their customers. The increase in public Internet access has fostered the online media revolution that pushes global communication further to the right.
Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” By taking an initiative to predict what would come next in the near future, providing what we know now, would help your business stay prepared and ahead of the game. So, let us imagine what it would be like 5 years from now. Knowing that up to this point, we have the public Internet at our finger tips, the remote storage spaces call Cloud, and a phone application called Siri that “talks” to us on iPhone 4S. Before you begin, I would like to slip in a few questions to ignite your thoughts:

Five years from now, as of January 1st 2012:
1. How much more important will your website be to your business marketing success?
2. Would there be a better/faster way for us to find information online through search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo? Do we still speak to search engines in English (like the recent app on iPhone 4S) or would we be able to speak in any languages and get the desired results on all smartphones?
3. Would there be a much better translation application that can translate contents from one language to any other languages over the website or even over the phone? For example, someone in China speaks Chinese to you over the phone and it comes out on your end of the phone in English, and vice versa.
After you imagined our possible future, ask yourself this question: How prepared are you in having a business website that speaks professionally about your products/services Online?
